Kajsa Heyes, BSc

Kajsa is a medical student at UBC’s Northern Medical Program in Prince George. She grew up in Vancouver and gradually farther and farther North as her love for winter and cross-country skiing grew. Kajsa has attended Athabasca University, Quest University, Capilano University, and graduated with a BSc in Liberal Science from Nipissing University in North Bay, Ontario. She was involved in the Report on Early Childhood, Education and Employment for Dene Nation project in 2017. She is interested in Indigenous and Northern health, and social determinants of health. She is currently working with the Northern Biobank Initiative to advocate for a stronger genomic research presence in Northern BC.
