From June 2–6, 2025, the ICHR hosted a student orientation in Yellowknife for two new ICHR summer students, six PhD students from the University of Alberta, and three summer students working with the Chief Public Health Officer in the Northwest Territories. The week included teachings with Elders, a tour of the Legislative Assembly, ice breakers, and a beading workshop with Gwich’in Knowledge Holder Denise McDonald.
